My friend was in excruciating pain. The pain in her side had come on suddenly and took her by surprise. She asked me if I would do some sound healing for her.
Of course, I immediately began offering her healing sounds, but hard as I tried, we weren’t getting any results.
Finally, I told her I was taking her to an emergency room, because her pain was too intense and if it was a ruptured appendix, we needed to get her to medical care. She agreed and we sped off to the hospital.
When we arrived, they immediately did some tests, and while she was waiting for the results, she fell asleep.
Within minutes, I could hear the healing sounds that she needed and made them internally, without sounding out loud.
As had occurred with my mother, suddenly I was seeing inside my friend’s body. I could see that one of her intestines was ruptured and intestinal fluid was secreting. I finally understood why it was so painful.
Within just a few minutes the rupture was sealed, at which time she promptly woke up and told me she was feeling great!
Her face filled with color and she was smiling when the doctor told her the tests didn’t show anything. They had no idea what had caused her pain. It seems they would not have found the leak without surgery. Thankfully, that wasn’t necessary.
I learned something very valuable from my friend that has been substantiated in a great deal of research. The body heals when it relaxes.
And here is more good news. The mind awakens when it becomes still!
For those of you exploring Sacred Feminine (yin) qualities with me, stillness and quiet are qualities of the Sacred Feminine. These qualities are not as valued in our current world as qualities associated with will and action.
If we don’t want our bodies to force us to get enough inner quiet and rest, we need to consciously cultivate a relationship with stillness.
I teach the role of stillness, even in my Sound Healing course, because stillness is the natural counterbalance to sound. In fact, there are some conditions that heal better with stillness and darkness, than they do with sound and light!
The good news is that this same stillness, while helping us heal, also promotes states of higher awareness and awakening! If you want to truly thrive, this is the energy from which the light of your being emerges. The light of your truth and vitality is born out of the depth of your stillness.
- So, are you giving yourself enough opportunity to be still and relaxed enough to heal?
- Are you getting still and quiet enough for your light to emerge in a life that thrives in happiness and joy?
- If not, what changes would you be willing to make starting today, to give yourself the state of rest that you need and deserve?
