Looking for Miracles is Different than Believing in Them

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

When someone comes to me looking for an instantaneous healing, I know we are not likely to make very much progress. Are you wondering why? Doesn’t it seem to make sense that the more the person is able to believe in instant healing, the more likely it is going to happen?

Indeed, I love to offer healing sounds and support to people that believe in the power of energetic healing because we are most likely to get results. However, there is a difference between believing in miracles and looking for them.

Someone looking for miracles is usually desperately hunting to find a solution. If you have been suffering with an illness or condition, it makes complete sense doesn’t it, that you want relief and you want it now? However, here are some of the kinds of beliefs that typically accompany you when you are on the hunt for a miracle that actually limit miraculous opportunities:

1) Somebody out there must have the answer;
2) Well, that didn’t work right away, so I’ll have to find something else;
3) That healer must not be very powerful because I’m still sick;
4) If nobody can heal it, then maybe I’m just supposed to live with this;
5) Let’s see what this person can do, because the last person I saw didn’t help;
6) God will make me well if he wants me to be well;
7) If I can just find the right cure everything will be okay; and
8) I want somebody to tell me what is going on and how to fix it quickly.

Do any of these beliefs sound familiar to you? If you believe in any of these above ideas or similar ones, you are still hunting for a cure. I used to hunt, and I now understand that seeking was unsuccessfully using up energy that I could have been using to actually heal myself!

Each of us came here to earth with the ability to access inner healing power. Yep, even you! Yes, some of us are more practiced, and some of us get results a little faster, and yes, you do have to devote time and energy into developing your abilities, but they are there.

This is not a gift handed out to a rare few of us and the rest of you just have to scramble to find the right healer and methodology. That would be a pretty sadistic reality, wouldn’t it? Yet, isn’t it interesting how many of us have grown up believing that’s how it works.

You do not have to say exactly the right prayer to God at exactly the right time, making exactly the right sacrifice, catching him/her in a good mood in order to receive a miracle. I know that is what a lot of us grew up believing, and that is not how it works!

With all due respect, that is how children think life works when they are dependent upon their parents. You have to catch mom or dad in the right mood with the right question, and maybe even offer to do something in return, and then you are lucky and you get what you want. Or there you are as a kid, stuck with a problem. So you seek someone else (often an adult) who can help you find the answer to your problem. Sometimes you are really fortunate to find just the right person with the information you are seeking and voila—you have an answer to your problem.

There is nothing wrong with either of these scenarios. They can happen and we have years of evidence demonstrating to us that this is how you manifest what you need.

But what do you do when that doesn’t work anymore? What do you do when you have been to several healers and doctors, and tried scores of treatments and therapies, but you are still feeling bad? Most of us keep looking for an answer somewhere, but in the mean time, we are building up a huge mountain of doubt and disappointment, and that is the energy we personally bring to our own healing.

Miracles don’t actually start outside of you. That’s why looking for them rarely works. Miracles start on inside and are manifested on the outside. Miracles start happening when you reframe your search into one of discovery about your spiritual/healing gift.

You might ask yourself if your hands get hot when you are around people that are ill or you are not feeling well. You might wonder if those songs you have been singing all your life actually have some healing power. Consider whether your ability to visualize so easily might just be a gift you could be applying to your healing starting right now. Maybe you regularly have dreams that are significant and you could be taking a question into your dream-time.

Ask yourself, how the Divine could and does best speak through you. That is where your miracles live. So let me suggest you stop looking for miracles and replace the hunt outside yourself with a deep and meaningful exploration of the real you that is longing to be discovered. Believe in the person that you are and the hidden gifts waiting to be uncovered and used, so that you will be fostering an internal environment of belief where miracles can truly occur.

Receiving the Gifts of Prayers Part I

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

cuppedhandssmThis weekend some wonderful initiated elders came to our house for a visioning retreat where they held individuals and groups across the world in their sacred feminine arms. In that space of profound love, tremendous healing can occur for those of us open to receive.

Though the ceremony is completed, the power of the ceremony continues and the healing energy is available to all of us.

As I held space for our elders, knowing that I was being graciously included in their prayers, I reminded myself that the benefit of such loving prayers are only truly received as I open myself and willing receiving the blessing.

And so I did, by giving thanks for their prayers and opening my heart to receive their love. Once my heart was filled with profound love, I invited the love to fill my entire body, including the broken and wounded places within me.

Opening to the precious gift of loving prayers requires more than saying or thinking about receiving them.

You really have to open your energetic field and one of the best ways to get that process going is to open your heart.

Here is one of the benefits to receiving prayers based in holding you in loving energy. It allows your own higher consciousness to determine what is right and best for you. The person holding the energy for you is not directing it; simply making the love available for you to use.

I invite you to take a few moments to sit quietly today and receive the love that was held for you this weekend. Allow your heart to open and your higher consciousness to know what to do, and allow yourself to receive the healing benefits their prayers.

In Order to Accelerate Your Healing, You Have to Slow Down

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

treeI know “to accelerate your healing, you have to slow down,” sounds like an oxymoron, but it is true. When we are busy, running around, uptight, and stressed, we actually slow down our healing process. The body simply must be in a relaxed state for deep and lasting healing to occur.

Black Elk, a powerful Sioux medicine man, is known to have given a mattress to someone seeking his help in healing, then tell them to begin by spending several days resting and sleeping under a tree. He understood the importance of re-establishing natural rhythms before beginning healing work.

Natural rhythms are slower than our usual, hurried pace, and are more conducive to natural healing methodologies.

Elderly woman grew a new valve to her heart

I promised you notice about a tele-class on self-healing, and I’m hustling to get it ready for you. In the mean time, enjoy discovering yet more hope in this incredible story of healing by an elderly woman, and now—friend.

Early in my sound medicine career, I had an experience with a woman in her seventies, who had never worked with energy medicine, but her results set the standard for me in regard to what our healing potential truly can be. For the protection of her privacy, I call her Ellie in this story.

Several years ago, I was asked to assist an elderly woman that needed to strengthen her heart in preparation for surgery. One of this woman’s heart valves was not functioning well, making her heart too weak for surgery on an aneurism.

Her daughter flew me out to their home where we spent one week together working toward the simple goal of strengthening her heart. Ellie had a remarkable ability to visualize that she discovered in the process of working with me. Because she was new to energy healing, I gently guided her and supported her in trusting her visualizations.

Our regular routine was for Ellie to lie down on the couch and allow her mind to bring her a visual image of health while I sang sacred healing sounds to her. Then, before she fell asleep, she would again affirm that she had a strong heart.

I parted company at the end of the week and patiently waited to hear the results from Ellie’s next chest x-ray. The following week, the x-ray showed some remarkable results. This 70-some year old client had grown an entirely new heart valve and had been determined ready for surgery!

Told He Would Never Walk Again

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

Hello Dear Friend, Today’s story is so important for two reasons. First, although we often hear that women are naturally more intuitive than men, Kevin followed his intuition and was able to heal fully when he was told that he would never walk normally again. The second lesson is that he was able to do this before he ever became involved in what he now knows is energetic healing! Simply his deep and full intent to heal aligned him with the proper path to full health. Listen in, I know you’ll find this story powerful and inspiring:

Seeing through Breast Tumor

Monday, July 13th, 2009

I cannot tell you how inspired I have been by the stories of challenge and success that you all have shared with me! Ever since I posted Judi’s story, you have overwhelmed me with your responses, here on the blog and through email. I am touched, and honored by your courage, heart, and sharing.

Because of this, I have made an important decision. I’ll share that with you in a moment.

First, in response to your requests for continued sharing of self-healing stories, here is the next real success. This one is an audio of a phone interview I did with a dear friend of mine, Krystalya Marie. She eliminated a breast tumor in a way and time you’ll find amazing!

As I mentioned, I’ve also been inspired by your responses to make an important decision … to take a further step to support you in your health.

I have decided to offer another live tele-seminar series on self-healing.

This is something of an “open secret”… I recently published a book on self-healing entitled The Root of All Healing: 7 Steps to Healing Anything. Also, a few years back, I offered a telephone seminar series on self-healing.

This new telephone series will be MUCH more powerful than the first one. It will incorporate all the lessons and successes from the first seminar, and include so much more that I’ve learned as I prepared to write the book.

I’m not sure exactly when I will offer this seminar, but it will be soon. Weeks, maybe.

One thing I am sure of, the class won’t be big, because part of my purpose will be to make sure that all questions are answered, and all efforts towards self-healing are supported. I can’t do that with 100 attendees.

I’ve learned so much from my first class and writing this book that I deeply believe the value of this new tele-seminar will be tremendous to you.

But before I offer this telephone class, I want to do one final check to make sure that this series really has everything that YOU need. So I have this one question for you…

What are the two most important things that you need from live, small-group instruction on self-healing?

I guarantee that I will personally read your post. To leave a post, do either of the following:

I look forward to sharing more stories, and helping you even more towards your own success with self-healing.
